Berkeley Exam 2010

The Berkeley Exam was held at Village Farm, Elberton by kind permission of Steve, Cheryl nd James Meredith. The support from the candidates was as strong as ever with plenty of competition for all the prizes.

The Farm was to be let as a 10 year FBT.

We walked the farm on the in Feb or March for the competitors to budget and consider their 10 year plans, which had to be set before the Judges 2 weeks later.  

Candidates were interviewed on the following subjects:
            Farm Plan                                Crops
            Dairy Cows                             Machinery
            Beef                                        Environment
            Sheep

Many thanks to Steve, Cheryl and James for hosting the day, and to the Judges, Stewards and Competitors who gave up their time to make the day a great success. The Exam is  mentored by John Bennett who interestingly is a descendant of Joseph Bennett who proposed the original idea for the Exam in 1898.
